10 Facts About @JoeyBabyWong

1. Why you called yourself @Joeybabywong?

I had this name for more than 10 years, if you grew up in Asia, you might have known a model/artist called "Anglea Baby". I basically just copied her name. XD

2. I have serious Eczema since I was 5 years old (Urgh! I still have Eczema! )

I am not going to lie, I hated my skin so much all of my life. When I was a kid, people will comment on my skin and body. I have no confidence to wear shorts/dresses in the summer. They think I have skin problems and will affect other peoples. I had a very tough journey as an eczema fighter, I still am. (But it is getting way better after I learn how to treat it)

I would love to have this platform to share more information about how to do skincare and take care of your eczema if you are the same as me. The products I review are all JoeyBabyWong eczema approved!

3. I didn't start learning makeup/beauty/skincare until I'm 25. I always believe a phrase called "Never Ever Too Late To Start/Learning Something New".

I moved to Japan, Tokyo in 2015 to learn Japanese. In the beginning, I was just thinking to learn Japanese before I turn 30 (That was my life goal). After spending a one-year language school in Japan, I decided to continue my study at a beauty university, learning how to be a makeup artist, hairdressing, and kimono.

4. I can read skincare ingredients in Japanese

While I was in the beauty school in Japan, I have a class to learn about all the beauty laws in Japan also need to understand beauty products' ingredients. I enjoyed it a lot! Come ask me with your bottle if you want to know the ingredients.

5. I am a Kimono Teacher

I didn't plan to be a Kimono Teacher at all when I start my Kimono class at school, but I am really into Japanese culture and my teacher has encouraged me a lot, I spent one-year learning and practice. Now I am a licensed Kimono Teacher (Yes, you need to have a license to help people wearing Kimono in Japan)

6. I used to be a Recruiter

I was a recruiter in Hong Kong for a few years after graduating from school. Love my job, love meeting client and candidate to know more about their background and stories. But after a few years in the field, I feel like I love beauty more. I want to work for something which excites me to wake up in the morning and start the day. Beauty is my calling.

7. My husband is Danish

I have known him for 9 years and we have been married for 5 years happily, I still don't speak any Danish.

8. I know 4 languages, none of them are really good LOL

Besides I am a beauty geek, I am also a language geek. I always feel like languages are able to connect people together. I would love to learn more if I have more time! My mother tongue is Cantonese, and I have learned Mandarin at school, English learn it mostly from gossip girl and Japanese.

9. My idol is Marie Kondo and she has changed my life completely

After watching her Netflix show "Tidying Up with Marie Kondo" I have never stopped tidying up my apartment and now my home is always clean/tidy/organized. It makes my daily life easier and can be more focused on work and study.

10. I have a jewelry shop (That's my third hobby)

I have a jewelry shop when I was still in Hong Kong, making minimalistic/chic and affordable jewelry.
